It’s 10 days already! A carefully read of own previous posts would show that your current questions have been provided with detailed answers. Please read and consider carefully with a bit of patience.
YOU: May i know which version of Jomsocial you are installing on site?
ME: As has been said repeatedly, a tier upgrade is required, which means that since our last working Jomsocial installation was 4.0.8, all available versions you’ve now provided (from Jomsocial v4.1.7 up to v4.2.3 or v 4.3.x) get stuck at upgrading process.
YOU: As you are using Joomla 3.6 that has older version supported. We fixed issue in latest update 4.5.2 but it needs latest Joomla.
ME: What has latest Joomla got to do with a simple upgrade of Jomsocial versions? Are the Jomsocial versions you provided to us not stable or too buggy? As has been said many times, we have CRUCIAL NEED of stable JOOMLA 3.6.x for now (Jomsocial had never failed to work with a standard stable Joomla version in well over 10 years experience!).
Very well, without further ado, what were the SOLVED fixes for:
a. Jomsocial admin backend turning blank upon upgrading Joomla to v3.6.x?
b. Jomsocial install hanging at ‘Preparing Database’ stage?
c. How did you tackle the ‘Preparing Database’ error:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Unknown column 'profileid' in '#community_files' SQL=ALTER TABLE #community_files ADD messageid INT(11) NOT NULL AFTER profileid)
We have used Jomsocial successfully for over a decade alongside many other installed major components. All data protection issues in own country considered (with regards to members’ details , etc., etc.), please provide professional answers to the above such that surrendering our entire backend becomes the very very last resort.
